Q. What are Imprint Sport shoes?

A. Imprint Sport shoes are a unique development of modern, composite,

light-weight polymers formulated to assimilate the hoof’s function and properties.

Being fully mouldable, Imprint Sport plastic horseshoes fit perfectly and restore your horse’s

natural hoof movement, becoming part of the hoof – a real advancement

   and alternative to metal shoes.

Q. How are Imprint Sport shoes fitted?

A. Imprint Sport shoes are fitted by your qualified farrier and are moulded and bonded to your

horses hoof without the need for nails. Imprint Sport shoes will even help reduce brittle hoof

walls and hoof cracks often caused by constant nailing. Available in five sizes of both front

and hind shoes – Imprint Sport shoes cater for most horses.

Q. How long will Imprint Sport shoes last?

A. Imprint Sport shoes usually out-last steel for wear, but the shoeing cycle is usually the same

as for steel shoes given the need to trim and balance the hoof regularly. A new set of Imprint

Sport shoes are therefore fitted each time.

Imprint Sport plastic horseshoes are made from a bio-degradable material.

Q. Do I need to make any changes to my regime when switching to Imprint Sport shoes?

A. No, but do allow your horse time to adjust to Imprint Sport shoes – they will feel different

when compared to his old shoes. Imprint Sport plastic horseshoes will maintain the moisture

content of the hoof so no need to use oils or greases on the hoof – only spirit-based

   disinfectant is recommended.

Q. Can Imprint Sport shoes be used for all disciplines?

A. Imprint Sport shoes can be used for most disciplines, eventing, show jumping, dressage

and endurance, but are not recommended for racing on hard-going turf – there is a need for

    studs.

Q. What studs should I use with Imprint Sport shoes?

A. Imprint Sport recommends hexagonal head studs but if square studs are used (11mm),

a 14mm washer must be placed between the shoe and stud.

Q. Can I use Imprint Sport shoes for all ground conditions?

A. Yes, for most, but for extra grip in icy conditions use tungsten pins in both heels of the shoe.
